Folly Family Songbook is a password-protected songbook for our family. The iOS app includes song charts and selected family photos and videos for offline use. Favorites, set lists, practice notes, recent songs, instrument preferences, and appearance settings are stored on your device. The app does not upload or synchronize these records.
The family password controls normal access to the app. The offline content is included in the app package and is not encrypted by the family password.
Family password and remembered access
When you unlock the app, your password is sent over HTTPS to follyfamilysongbook.com to check access. The app does not save the password. A successful check returns a 30-day access token, which the app saves in the iOS Keychain on that device.
Choose Settings → Family access → Lock the songbook to remove remembered access. An already-unlocked device can continue offline until its token expires. Changing the website password does not immediately revoke an offline device's remembered access.
Network information and service providers
Cloudflare hosts the family-password service. Requests to that service may create operational logs containing technical information such as IP address, request time, URL, device or browser information, and response status. This information is used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot access. The app does not send practice notes, favorites, set lists, or your photo library to this service.
Cloudflare may process additional connection and security information under its own privacy policy. We do not use an advertising SDK, advertising identifiers, or tracking across other companies' apps and websites.
Links and sharing
The iOS app bundles its performance thumbnails. Opening a YouTube, Apple Music, or other external link takes you to that service, where its own privacy policy applies.
Sharing a set list sends its name and ordered song references through the sharing destination you choose. It does not include your notes, favorites, or family password. Sharing a chart or songbook sends the selected PDF. A recipient receives an independent copy; changes do not synchronize.
Retention and your choices
Local songbook records remain until you remove them or delete the app's local data. Removing the app removes its local library records. Remembered access expires after 30 days and can be removed with Lock the songbook. Copies in device backups, files you export, and files you share are managed by their respective backup or sharing services.
Operational logs expire under the hosting provider's configured retention. Support emails are retained as needed to answer the request and meet applicable obligations. Contact us about privacy questions, support correspondence, or concerns about family content.
